If I had to single out two flaws in Wilt’s game, it would be his lack of shooting ability and his youthful selfishness. Curry is a wonderful fit with Wilt.
In addition to being the all-time best shooter, Curry is the most unselfish offensive superstar I have ever witnessed in the NBA. If giving Wilt the ball and letting him do his job is what it takes for him to win, then he is willing to do so.
It’s also important to note that, in a 2 on 2, I don’t think any other duo could defeat these two. Wilt can’t have just one player on him, but if you double team him, Curry can make an open three, which is essentially a layup for Steph.
What if these two engage in a pick-and-roll? As everyone knows, you have to trap or blitz Curry to prevent him from having an open jumper. In the NBA Finals of 2022, the Celtics declined to do this and had to pay their award instead. But if you trap Curry, all he has to do is pass the ball ahead to Wilt for a simple slam. A nightmare for defenses; in my opinion, an absolutely unbeatable team.
