Jason Kidd has been a standout player for the Dallas Mavericks of the Western Conference in recent years. After LeBron James’ team struggled for a large portion of 2024, Kidd was recently linked to the Los Angeles Lakers. With the Mavericks still in the NBA playoff series, Kidd has now decided to sign a long-term contract extension with his current team.
With this well-deserved contract extension, we are thrilled to have Coach Kidd lead our team for many more years to come,” Mavericks governor Patrick Dumont said on Monday.
“Kidd guided our team to two postseason trips in three seasons, and we are excited about his continued development and leadership of this already outstanding team.”
“I have known Jason for a long time, and I cannot think of a better, more qualified candidate to lead this team going forward,” general manager Nico Harrison stated.
