Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, according to retired ATP star Younes El Aynaoui, “have always accepted defeat better” than Novak Djokovic, another tennis legend.
The former world No. 14 argued that “the true champion is seen in defeat” and that the tennis “GOAT” debate is “not all about tennis and numbers.”
In September, Djokovic won the 2023 US Open in a straight-set over Daniil Medvedev, securing a men’s record-extending 24th Grand Slam victory.
With 22 Majors, Nadal is ranked second all-time, and Federer is ranked third with 20. The Swiss won his final Grand Slam at the 2018 Australian Open, while the Spaniard won his most recent one at the 2022 French Open.
