Barbra, the Bubbe! Barbra Streisand is finally going to become a grandma. The 76-year-old Jewish singing great, who has an interfaith marriage with James Brolin, has no grandkids because her son Jason (from her marriage to Elliott Gould) is childless. She is eagerly anticipating the birth of her step-son-in-law, actor Josh Brolin’s first child with his third wife Kathryn Boyd, who will give birth in November.
My wife got [Streisand] a bracelet with the word ‘Grandma’ on it, and she started crying. She e-mails me every day and says, “I thought of this name; what do you think?” “When can I come over to feel the baby?” Josh informed People. “I appreciate that she is interested in it. I mean, it’s like a traditional Jewish grandmother who is overwhelmed by the event. It’s fantastic.” Streisand fans will soon be able to see six of her legendary TV specials, as well as an enhanced version of A Star is Born, according to a new Netflix streaming partnership.
