After a summer of unclear transfers, Kyle Walker is about to sign a new contract with Manchester City, but nothing has been officially declared.
Kyle Walker expressed disappointment that his new contract has not yet been agreed but still wants to play “many more” seasons at Manchester City.
Walker’s current contract ends at the end of the current campaign, and over the summer, he considered moving to Bayern Munich before electing to stay at City. He recently acknowledged that the length of the contract offered was the primary determinant in choosing City, and he is expected to sign a new contract through 2026.
Walker was questioned on Saturday about if he wants to sign a new contract with City, but there has been little progress on that new deal since it was first disclosed.

After the draw with Ukraine in the Euro 2024 qualifying round, Walker—who had 77 caps—was talking about his status at City. Walker had just scored his first goal for England at the international level.
Walker told Sky Sports, “I have to fulfill my contract. “Clearly, things haven’t turned out as planned. Whatever perspective you choose, it hasn’t happened.
“But I play for Manchester City. I intend to hang around at this club as long as I can. I must act in my own best interests, which is to maintain my position as leader for as long as feasible.
Many former players have informed me that it is challenging to come down once you start. It will be great if I can achieve my goals for this season and hopefully many more while playing for Manchester City.
