Kevin Mac Allister, a defender with Union Saint-Gilloise, has praised Anfield as one of the top stadiums in the world.
Last night, as Mac Allister faced off against his brother, Liverpool midfielder Alexis, for the first time, all eyes were on him.
The game ended up being kind of a non-event. Even though the Reds won 2-0, Anfield’s night was anything but memorable.
The Mac Allister family undoubtedly had a wonderful evening, though. After the game, Kevin and Alexis were interviewed by CBS Sports Golazo. Kevin had some “special” things to say about Liverpool’s home field.
The 25-year-old stated, “For me, it was really special.” “Alexis playing at Anfield seems natural to me. It meant a lot to me that my family got to see me play football in one of the best stadiums in the world. Of course, I made an effort to enjoy it, but it was incredibly challenging.
Mac Allister appreciates the Anfield night
Kevin played well for Union yesterday night on the right of a back three.
Despite a challenging beginning in which Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez both broke through to miss, he and his teammates eventually became comfortable.
Since most of the action took place in front of him and his teammates, Mac Allister and company were well-organized and challenging to stop.
This resulted in a somewhat soggy mood at Anfield.
Pre-game, it seemed as though it may be a fierce evening at the storied stadium, with Tottenham events the previous weekend sharpening minds about putting on a show.
Instead, it appeared like everyone—players and spectators alike—had just been fatigued as a result of the game in London and the ensuing fallout.
In any case, the traveling Union SG fans kept signing the entire game. They contributed to making it a night that Mac Allister and his colleagues would always remember by their sheer intensity, which seemed to make it a loud one in the ground.
