Jürgen Klopp, manager of Liverpool, has offered an update on his three injuries. The most encouraging news concerns Cody Gakpo, although he also had kind words to say about Ryan Gravenberch.
After the international break, Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has revealed that Cody Gakpo might play again for the Reds. Gakpo was forced to leave the game against Tottenham Hotspur at halftime last weekend after suffering an injury just before his team’s equalizer.
Despite the VAR issue, Klopp dubbed the injury “the biggest problem” to result from the match and expressed concerns over a lengthy layoff after saw Gakpo limping in a brace. The best-case scenario, however, suddenly looks more realistic after the Dutchman was observed walking comfortably and unassisted at Anfield as Liverpool defeated Union Saint-Gilloise 2-0 in the Europa League.
Ahead of this weekend’s match against Brighton, Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp gave an update on Gakpo as well as Thiago Alcântara and Stefan Bajéti.
On Thursday night, both teams competed in Europa League play, with Brighton overturning a two-goal deficit while traveling to Marseille. The most difficult preparation came for the game on Sunday, when Liverpool played at home against weaker opponents in the Belgian team.
