After Liverpool lost 5-2 to Real Madrid at Anfield in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League match, manager Jurgen Klopp is under a lot of pressure.

It would be an understatement to suggest that Liverpool is having difficulties right now—the team is going through its worst season in recent memory. Klopp’s team is currently seven points below the top four in the Premier League table after losing badly in both the FA Cup and the League Cup.
It appears doubtful that they will make it to the Champions League for the 2023–24 campaign. They are currently under considerably more pressure following their humiliating loss to Real Madrid on Tuesday.
The club’s executive committee is reportedly debating whether to fire manager Klopp and are having talks about it.
Let’s look at five managers who could take Klopp’s job at Liverpool without further ado.
For the past four years, Pep Lijnders has served as Klopp’s assistant manager. The German coach is probably going to pick Lijnders to succeed him at Liverpool if he is allowed to choose.
It’s not like Lijnders has much experience with senior management. His five months in command of NEC in the Dutch second division in 2018 are the only times he has been exposed to it.
Lijnders is recognized as one of the most talented young managers in European football because of his tactical acumen and ability to mold young players. In August 2022, the Dutch coach released a book titled “Intensity” and is an advocate of the counter-pressing technique.
Because of this, his approach and philosophy won’t differ significantly from Klopp’s, and the change might go rather well.
#4 Zinedine Zidane
Zinedine Zidane discussed his want to resume coaching at the Alpine F1 vehicle launch event earlier this month (via Football.London). He declared:
I’m running out of time, but not sure how long. I’m sure I want to coach again. Maybe I’ll have time till June, but things move quickly, so I want to continue coaching.”
Zidane’s playing style, which was distinguished by elegance, delicacy, and technical skill, has been compared to his coaching technique. He has received recognition for his capacity to inculcate these traits in his group, developing a style
Due to his managerial achievements, Zidane is now regarded as one of the most prestigious and in-demand managers in the world of football, and there is no denying his influence on Real Madrid’s recent success. Might Zidane take Klopp’s position at Liverpool? It is quite definitely feasible.
Mauricio Pochettino #3
Former Argentine football player and manager Mauricio Pochettino is most recognized for his productive time at Tottenham Hotspur, where he managed the team from 2014 to 2019. He guided Spurs to their first Champions League final in 2019 and four straight top-four finishes in the English Premier League during that time.
Pochettino’s high-pressing, possession-based style of play, which prioritized rapid transitions and dynamic movement, was the foundation of his success at Tottenham.
His success was also greatly influenced by his focus on team cohesion and youth development, which allowed him to get the most out of his players and create a competitive team on a tight budget.
Along with Paris Saint-Germain, he was the 2021–22 Ligue 1 champion, but the club’s lackluster Champions League campaign forced him to leave. Liverpool might be a fantastic fit for Pochettino.
#2 Enrique Luis
One of the most accomplished trainers in recent memory is Luis Enrique. 2008 saw him start his managerial career with Barcelona B, a position he held for three years.
After that, he held brief positions at AS Roma and Celta Vigo until he was appointed manager of the Barcelona senior team in 2014. In his debut season as Barcelona’s manager, he captured the continental triple crown.
Additionally, he guided Spain’s national team to the UEFA Nations League final in 2021 and the World Cup knockout rounds in 2018.
Enrique’s ability to modify his tactics in response to his opponents’ advantages and disadvantages is a key component of his coaching success.
The Spanish coach is renowned for emphasizing pressing and possession-based football. His sides have received accolades for their skill on offense and ability to manage games. Enrique recently departed from his position
Thomas Tuchel
Chelsea must be regretting their choice to fire Thomas Tuchel after a dismal stretch of play early in the year. Since then, things have only gotten worse, and even though they made large investments in the transfer market, the profits have only been poor.
Since starting his coaching career in 2007 with FC Augsburg, Tuchel has been the manager of several elite European teams, including Chelsea, Mainz 05, Borussia Dortmund, and Paris Saint-Germain.
Tuchel is known for being an extremely analytical coach who pays close attention to detail during preparation and is constantly seeking for methods to raise his team’s level of play.
His sides are renowned for their flowing attacking play, rapid transitions, and intense pressing, with an emphasis on maintaining possession and creating opportunities.
