With their victory over the Detroit Lions for the NFC championship, the San Francisco 49ers nearly avoided any injuries.
Fortunately, injuries only affected two important starters. During a conference call on Monday, Kyle Shanahan disclosed that Ambry Thomas (ankle) and George Kittle (toe) were injured during the game. Since Shanahan stated that both players are being evaluated as “day-to-day” this week, the injuries are not thought to be serious.
Additionally, the 49ers have time to rest because the game isn’t for another two weeks. Shanahan provided some insight into the 49ers’ schedule for this week.
“They were here today. They remain in at this moment. We’re now wrapping up this game. The next two days will be off for them,” Shanahan declared. Then, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, we’ll begin our game plan and practice week here. Thus, we should have the game plan ready by Thursday, when the players return from their two days off.”
