Among the few starting quarterbacks who won’t play in the preseason is Dak Prescott.
The Cowboys quarterback turned it into a plus by declaring on Thursday that it has given him an advantage going into Week 1. On September 10, Dallas plays the Giants in its season opener.
According to Nick Harris of the team website, Prescott stated, “Knowing that I wasn’t playing in the preseason a week ago allowed me to move forward and watch some of their past games, our history with them.” “You must get ready. The first game is underway. When you get the opportunity, you must take advantage of it in order to get off to a hot and proper start.
Among the quarterbacks in the league who have participated in or are scheduled to participate in the preseason are Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen, and Patrick Mahomes. It is reasonable to infer that these players are also anticipating their season debuts. But going into the first game of the season, Prescott is in a better spot than he has been in the previous several years.
Since 2019, he has not participated in the preseason. Due to the epidemic, the NFL was forced to postpone its 2020 preseason schedule. In 2021, Prescott suffered a shattered ankle, and the previous season, he suffered a shoulder injury.
After a year, Prescott claimed to feel “much different” about his situation and the Cowboys’ current standing.
Prescott remarked, “I feel great about where we are.” Very distinct from the previous year. We’ve discussed it all during the offseason, spring, and training camp: in terms of the installation and the specifics of everything, we’re in a lot better shape now than we were at this time last year. Before we go in, we need to make sure we’re doing all the right things in the upcoming week.
Since defeating the Giants 35–17 in the 2019 season opening, the Cowboys have lost all of their openers. In the 2020 season opening, they were defeated by the Rams, and in 2021 and 2022, by the Bucs.
