Michael Smith defeated Luke Littler in a disappointing Premier League Darts match on Thursday.
In the Premier League Darts quarterfinal on Thursday, Luke Littler defeated Michael Smith 3-1 and was informed that “something switched.” On night eight in Dublin, the teenager surged into a promising lead but lost at the first hurdle.
This was only Littler’s second elimination from Premier League Darts at the quarterfinal level. Bully Boy overcame a 6-4 score differential to win, but they ultimately lost Thursday’s championship match against unchallenged leader Luke Humphries.
After leading 3-1, Sky Sports analyst Mark Webster thought Littler became “slack” and concentrated too much on his leg technique. The 17-year-old has been pushed by the former BDO world champion to find his best form in Belfast the following week.
“He got 3-1 up and something switched,” stated Webster. It wasn’t like Michael Smith completely destroyed him. He became a little careless and began honing his leg technique. For him, it simply didn’t work out there.
“He needs to move on the following week and can’t linger on that since he’s still in a wonderful position. Although he was leading 3-1, he will be dissatisfied, as he is now in a strong position going into the league phase. In Belfast, he gets back together.”
Lester made an effort to control expectations following his elimination from the quarterfinal. Rob Cross scored two points to lead the World Championship runner-up, and for the first time in many weeks, he fell out of the top four.
I’m a first-year Prem student. Littler thought back afterward, “Some weeks have gone according to plan, and some weeks haven’t.
But gaining the points on the board is the main goal. This is obviously the halfway mark; the important part is what occurs after this.
Humphries, Littler’s opponent in the World Championship, triumphed a third time in a row. In the championship match, he defeated Smith 6-2 after defeating Peter Wright and Nathan Aspinall.
