Due to an injury, the forward had to leave Seville and was unable to practice on Thursday.
Eight members of Arsenal’s first team may be absent for this afternoon’s match against Burnley.
Thomas Partey (thigh), Jurrien Timber (knee), and Emile Smith Rowe (knee) will all undoubtedly miss the match at Emirates Stadium.
But the Gunners might also be missing Takehiro Tomiyasu, Eddie Nketiah, Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard, and Bukayo Saka.
Nketiah missed Wednesday’s victory against Sevilla. Odegaard has missed the last two games and has a race against time to be fit for the weekend. Jesus has not played since October 24, despite being called up by Brazil for qualifiers later this month.
Given the doubts surrounding the two strikers, Mikel Arteta might once again resort to Leandro Trossard to lead the line. On Wednesday, he did just that against Sevilla, scoring the game’s first goal in a 2-0 victory.
Given that Tomiyasu departed the game during the midweek half due to an injury, Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has been lobbying to start at left back, might get his way.
Saka is striving to play and is eager to do so, but he did not workout on Thursday after being hurt.
Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Havertz, Jorginho, Rice; Saka, Trossard, Martinelli was Arsenal’s expected starting lineup (4-3-3)
Timber (knee), Smith Rowe (knee), and Partey (thigh) are injured.
