According to sources, Rodrygo, a Brazilian international, is’ready to leave’ Real Madrid, despite interest from Premier League club Liverpool.
Rodrygo joined Real Madrid from Santos in 2018 for about €45 million, and he has since developed into one of the world’s top forwards.
Last season, the 22-year-old scored 19 goals and provided 11 assists in 57 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions. Last season, the versatile attacker earned 41 starts and demonstrated his ability to play all over the attacking line.
Rodrygo, who is valued at €100 million, has been linked with a shock move to Liverpool in recent weeks, as he is said to be a suitable replacement for Mohamed Salah.
In the summer, the Saudi Pro League expressed strong interest in the Egypt international, and Al-Ittihad failed with a £150 million bid for the 31-year-old.
The Saudis are unlikely to abandon their pursuit of Salah, and it has already been said that they intend to make another bid for the Liverpool star in January.
Liverpool already has plenty of attacking alternatives, but they will need to replace Salah when/if he departs the club.
According to the Spanish newspaper Nacional, Rodrygo is now’ready to quit’ Real Madrid as Liverpool increases their interest in him.
Jurgen Klopp is claimed to be “aware that the risk of losing Salah is really high,” thus signing a new attacker to replace the Liverpool phenomenon is his “priority.”
Rodrygo is reportedly ‘the option they want’ since he has ‘convinced’ Klopp that he would be a good fit for Liverpool.
The Reds are ‘ready to lure’ the Brazilian international to leave Real Madrid because they would ‘give him a considerably greater salary than what he now has, offer a lot of money to Florentino Perez to open the doors, and guarantee him to be the undisputed starter’ at Anfield.
