After receiving a sharp reminder that public remarks on someone’s Instagram account are not, uh, private direct messages, Barbra Streisand has issued an apology.
The 82-year-old legend was seen posing the question, “Did you take Ozempic?” in the comments section of a recent Instagram post by Melissa McCarthy. The complete comment is actually even better; it is written in a succinct but insightful stream of consciousness style and is devoid of all punctuation except for the final question mark at the end. On their way to a charity gala, McCarthy and director Adam Shankman were pictured. Babs wrote, in full, “Give him my regards did you take Ozempic?”
The post went viral almost immediately after being spotted by CommentsByCelebs, a well-known Instagram aggregator that was created especially for situations like this. This compelled Streisand to post an apology on social media, which was, in its own unique way, every bit as magnificent as the one that landed her in this predicament.
