Darwin Nunez has addressed Liverpool’s Sunday draw with Luton Town.
Darwin Nunez is adamant that Liverpool “can do better” following their thrilling 1-1 draw with Luton Town.
Tahith Chong’s late strike put Jurgen Klopp’s team behind before Luis Diaz, making his first appearance since his parents were abducted in Colombia last Saturday, equalized in injury time.
Despite not scoring on any of his nine attempts, Nunez was the driving force behind Liverpool’s offensive effort at Kenilworth Road. He squandered a golden opportunity to put his team ahead in the second half when, following a flick-on from Mohamed Salah, he fired over from a short distance.
Nunez posted the following on Monday on X, formerly known as Twitter: “We can do better. I appreciate your help, Reds.
After the game, Jamie Carragher, a former vice captain of Liverpool, stated that Nunez must develop more ruthlessness in his game if he is to reach his full potential at Anfield.
“He’s dangerous, he’s a handful, he’s never going to be the most clinical, we know that because he has been in our league for 19 months, but there is no doubt there’s been a big improvement this season,” Carragher stated. “He’s Liverpool’s nine, but he needs to quit making jokes about himself. He needs to act more clinically in certain circumstances.
