Liverpool has received an update on Andre from Fabrizio Romano. According to reports, the Brazilian midfielder is wanted by the Reds.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool still wants to sign Andre, a midfielder for Fluminense. According to a recent update provided by the journalist, the player should be moving in two weeks.
Romano told CaughtOffside, “He’s still on their list.” However, based on what I’ve heard, it’s not only Liverpool. More European teams are attempting to ascertain the terms of the agreement and what Fluminense would be willing to accept in January.
“I believe that in the following two weeks, things might become clearer because talks can then be held to ascertain the player’s intention and the final price.
Liverpool, though, is still intrigued. I estimate that it will cost between 35 and 40 million euros, so let’s see if they invest money. But people at Liverpool still value him.”
We were always going to hear something after the Copa Libertadores. In fact, Andre’s lack of a Liverpool player is mostly due to that final.
Mario Bittencourt, the president of Fluminense, gave an explanation of this to ESPN Brazil in the summer.
“Liverpool’s Chief Executive [Billy Hogan] contacted me directly [about Andre],” stated Bittencourt. “To which I said, ‘My friend, I don’t deliver them today, and I don’t sell players now. We can discuss if you would like to purchase now and receive the player just in January. We can also talk in December if you’d rather wait until then.”
However, Andre’s performances will inevitably spark further interest from other sources. Teams will inquire about the 22-year-old since he is a tremendous talent and is now genuinely available.
The choice to wait for the Copa Libertadores run, therefore, is motivated by Bittencourt. Fluminense not only took home the trophy, but Andre’s value will probably rise as a result.
Now let’s see how far Liverpool will go to acquire him.
