Breaking News: Jurgen Klopp has found perfect replacement for Jones against Union SG

Curtis Jones’ probable absence from Liverpool’s lineup for the next three Premier League games may present Jürgen Klopp with the perfect opportunity to alter one of his strategies.

Since his commanding performance against Aston Villa last month, Trent Alexander-Arnold hasn’t made a start for Liverpool; he injured himself during a 3-0 victory that day. He is now fully fit and appears certain to start against Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday, but he might soon take on a different position.

In Liverpool’s most recent game, Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota both received red cards, which somehow cost the Reds the game. It will be challenging for Jürgen Klopp to replace the former in particular, who over the past several months has positioned himself as a starter and essential player.

The Scouse midfielder will be suspended for Liverpool’s subsequent three Premier League games even though the Anfield club has appealed the decision to send him off against Spurs. Jones appears to be going to waste as a dependable dominating presence who virtually serves as a counterweight for his teammates by maintaining possession and applying pressure to the opposition.

Alexander-Arnold, who is now eligible for selection, may be a wildcard replacement option that Klopp is considering for Jones in his current lineup. The local-born star is a right-back by trade, but since April, he has frequently moved into the centre of the park and has been used as an inverted full-back.

Alexander-Arnold has almost completely transformed into a quarterback. In the previous six months, he has acted as a makeshift midfielder and controlled Liverpool’s game from the center of the field, so Klopp may think about using him as a potential engine room replacement.

Instead of simply replacing Jones, Alexander-Arnold might take Alexis Mac Allister’s spot as Liverpool’s holding midfielder until Jones’s comeback, allowing the Argentina international to advance. Although the World Cup winner excels in the last third, Klopp has been utilizing him this season as a deep-lying midfielder.
