According to unbelievable rumors, Real Madrid lost hope in their attempt to capture Chelsea star Reece James and is now interested in Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool.
In order to replace Dani Carvajal at right-back for Carlo Ancelotti’s team, Madrid is now searching. Having made 389 appearances for Los Blancos and assisted them in winning numerous trophies, including three La Liga crowns and five Champions Leagues, Carvajal has been a devoted member of the Madrid team. Carvajal is about to enter his twilight years, though, since he is currently 31 years old.
Before making a possibly enormous offer for James in the summer of 2019, Madrid is actively pursuing him, as TEAMtalk exclusively disclosed on November 2. The England midfielder has made a significant impact since moving to the Spanish capital over the summer, and they hope he will become their Jude Bellingham of the future.
Then, rumors circulated that Manchester City might challenge Real Madrid for James, with Pep Guardiola eager to turn James into Kyle Walker’s long-term successor.
James, the current captain of Chelsea, is said to have “completely ruled out” leaving Stamford Bridge, according to a Monday 90min report. His goal is to stay with the Blues and lead them back to the top of the English football league.
The Madrid management was compelled by that choice to scout potential right-back acquisitions. Furthermore, Madrid has reportedly started pursuing Alexander-Arnold, according to the Liverpool Echo’s live transfer blog (11/11, at 14:53), which quotes astonishing allegations from Spain.

It is rumored that Madrid would attempt to reach a deal with Liverpool by opening the bidding at €80 million (£70 million).
But, considering how important Alexander-Arnold is to Jurgen Klopp—he was just designated Virgil van Dijk’s deputy captain—Malagda would have to make a much larger bid for Liverpool to even consider selling the player. Maybe something like £150 million, or more than £100 million, might work.
Real Madrid connections to compel Liverpool to make a contract choice
Even if this transfer request is obviously overly aggressive, it might help Liverpool convince Alexander-Arnold to sign a longer contract.
His present contract expires in June 2025, so Liverpool needs to move quickly to negotiate longer terms that involve a significant salary increase.
If Liverpool fails to accomplish this, other teams will have the opportunity to recruit the England player in the summer of 2024 or in January of 2025 for a lower fee.
Given that Madrid is virtually always the favorite in La Liga and the Champions League, it is obvious that they can provide Alexander-Arnold with regular hardware. However, Liverpool may also provide him with great success, as the 25-year-old has achieved nearly every victory possible during his time at Anfield.
These circumstances may force Madrid to devise a fallback strategy should their pursuit of Alexander-Arnold prove fruitless. Ivan Fresneda, a rising star from Spain who was linked to both Real Madrid and Arsenal before joining Sporting this summer, is one excellent alternative.
Since moving to Portugal is thought of as a stepping stone to larger things, Madrid still has a chance to sign Fresneda in 2024 and get rid of their right-back dilemma.
According to rumors, Liverpool and Arsenal have joined Manchester United in their pursuit of a Benfica star.
