Former England striker Crouch talked about the candidates for manager of the season, taking into account the work of Eddie Howe of Newcastle, Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton, and Unai Emery of Aston Villa, before deciding that Arteta was the front-runner.
“I understand that Aston Villa and Newcastle’s results have drastically improved, but Arteta was fired last year. Many people were demanding to be fired, Crouch said on BT Sport.
“They’ve had an amazing season, and he’s turned that around to challenge a powerhouse like Manchester City.”
