Following the victory over Villa, Klopp had downplayed the severity of the right-back’s issue. However, Alexander-Arnold’s absence from practice indicates that his chances of making a speedy comeback have been dashed.

After having surgery on a hip ailment in the summer, Thiago has been regaining his fitness. Despite Klopp’s confirmation that he resumed team training last month, his absence on Thursday signals he has experienced a setback.
