Before the Celtics’ 110-106 victory against the Miami Heat on Super Bowl Sunday, the 21-year-old from North Carolina said, “I ain’t really worried about that too much.” “I’m here now.”

The former Tennessee Volunteer also commented on the start of his career with Boston, saying, “You can’t go wrong with this club. Probably the greatest club in the league, with a bunch of fantastic individuals and a great organization, and I’m really enjoying it so far.”

And, in addition to getting their new buddy a win over his previous team, the C’s are also hoping to win their regular season series with their rivals from the City of Brotherly Love.

Boston is 2-1 versus Philadelphia, and this will be their only meeting in the 2023-24 season unless they meet again in the playoffs.

It helps that the Celtics are at full strength, since their first injury report prior to Tuesday’s game was a clean sheet.

The hosts, 45-12, lead the NBA rankings. Following Joel Embiid’s meniscus injury, the 76ers (33-24, 3-7 in their past ten games) have slid to sixth in the Eastern Conference.
