Jodie Foster Says, “Thankful for the Life We Have,” at Her Wife’s 10th Anniversary Hand-in-Hand & Footprint Ceremony.
love you so much,” Foster said during the TCM Classic Film Festival on Friday, April 19.
Jodie Foster and her spouse are commemorating an important career achievement.
In honor of the 15th annual TCM Classic Film Festival, the 61-year-old actress had her hands and feet pressed into the ground outside the TCL Chinese Theatre on Friday, April 19. Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Guest, and his wife, Alexandra Hedison, who were seated in the front row, provided support for Foster, whose celebrated career includes movies like Taxi Driver, Silence of the Lambs, and most recently Nyad.
It was the couple’s tenth anniversary, Foster said in her moving address, and she praised 54-year-old Hedison for being “so generous” and “giving up” their special day for the occasion. As in, what are you considering? Why didn’t you say no? Foster said, “I’m so thankful for our life together and I love you so much.” The Best Actress Oscar winner revealed to PEOPLE that Hedison was more than happy to change their anniversary plans following the ceremony.
She responded to my question with, “Oh yeah, that’s okay.” We’ll work things out. It’s alright. We’re going to supper,” she says. “We had a good day yesterday, so we kind of made it happen yesterday and then we got a whole weekend of fun things to do,” she continues. Being recognized at the ceremony, according to Foster, is “amazing.”
She goes on, “I had no idea.” “Although it held sentimental value for me since I was a child, I didn’t understand it was a huge deal, and all of my pals were like, ‘Wait, what? What is going on? Thus, it’s quite wonderful.” Foster tells PEOPLE that the accolade is all the more meaningful because she used to frequent the neighborhood and her childhood home was close to the theater.
