Dion news:Celine Dion Says Singing with Stiff-Person Syndrome is ‘Like Somebody’s Strangling You’

Celine explained in the video how her illness has affected her voice. It feels as though you’re being strangled. Celine raised her voice to illustrate the sensation, saying, “It feels like someone is pushing your larynx or pharynx.” “It was like talking like that, and you cannot go high or lower.” Celine clarified, “It goes into a spasm.” “That began [in the neck]. “No, okay, it’s going to be fine,” I thought to myself. However, the abdomen, the spine, or the ribs may also be affected.Celine continued by stating that she occasionally feels trapped in her spot by the tightness. “It feels like, if I point my feet, they will stay in [that position],” Celine said. “Alternatively, when I cook, which I love to do, my hands and fingers will adjust…Although it hurts, it feels as though you can’t release them.”

She went on, “I have broken ribs at one point because sometimes when its very severe, it can break.” When Celine appeared on the April cover of Vogue France, she talked candidly about her health, her current state of mind, and whether or not she planned to go on tour in the future. NBC will broadcast Celine’s whole conversation with Hoda on Tuesday, June 11 at 10 p.m. ET.
