Noelle Maritz, a defender from Switzerland, has joined Aston Villa from Arsenal.
Maritz, 28, has agreed to a contract that is good for two and a half years, with the possibility of one more year, if the Football Association gives its consent.
After joining Arsenal from VfL Wolfsburg in 2020, she has 113 caps for her country and two goals in 92 games.
“We’re thrilled to have Noelle join our team,” Carla Ward, manager of Villa, stated.
“She has played in the Champions League and won titles everywhere she has gone, so she has a ton of elite experience.
This is a really significant signing for us as we move forward. Her presence will enhance the caliber and expertise of a developing backline, and we are honored that she has decided to stay on our team.”
Maritz’s season total for Arsenal appearances was just eight.
Villa is now in tenth place in the WSL table, while Arsenal is currently third, behind Chelsea and Manchester City.
