GERMAN MASTERS SNOOKER RECAP: JUDD TRUMP OVERPOWERS THEPCHAIYA UN-NOOH, BUT KYREN WILSON OVERCOMES NEIL ROBERTSON

We’re back with more top players competing in Eurosport’s live coverage of the 2024 German Masters. The top players continue to leave their marks on the event as Mark Allen battles snooker icon John Higgins in what could be an exciting afternoon session and Judd Trump takes on Thepchaiya Un-Nooh in the evening.

Judd Trump and John Higgins square off in the first of the two quarterfinals, while Ryan Day and Si Jiahui square off on the other main showpiece table. We’ll be back on Friday at 12:45 p.m. for the highly anticipated thriller, Trump vs. Higgins.

A fantastic 76-point break from Kyren. That ought to be sufficient to win the match, but Robbo slots a long red to maintain hope. He’s going to play snookers out onto black.

Robbo’s trademark powerful response as he starts to motor at the beginning of the seventh frame. Robbo is trying to finish this frame with a single blow after Kyren attempted a long red but missed it. Looks really well in between the balls.

ROBERTSON Wilson, 2-3 (23–69)
Robertson positions red in the center and then observes as white vanishes down the yellow pocket. That is regrettable. Kyren makes an incredible cut to right center to put in the red he needs. Wilson appears to be leading the race to five 4-2. This has been quite the comeback from Kyren. becomes blue and moves two frames forward.
ROBERTSON WILSON (16–46) 2-3
Wilson overcame a 2-0 deficit to take a 3-2 lead. With a 30-point lead, Kyren is attempting to rush over the line, but as we speak, three reds are tangled up on side cushions. There are two men competing to relive past glory at this tournament.

Trump and Higgins square up against Ryan Day and Si Jiahui on the second main showpiece table in the first of the two quarterfinals.

Judd had outstanding breaks of 110, 132, 80, and 135 points. He also secures £150,000 as winner of the European Series. Therefore, it was a good night’s work for the world No. 2.

HIGGINS 0–0 ALLEN (0–4)
Guys are having fun. This might be one heck of an afternoon. A delight to relish. A true heavyweight fight, ending with Higgins cutting us off. Allen chooses a lengthy red. leaves the red to right center, and Higgins moves forward by tucking away a difficult red to right center.
HIGGINS IS DENIED BY ALLEN AT MASTERS
Mark Allen and John Higgins engaged in a spirited match to secure a spot in the Masters quarterfinals. Allen overcame a 3-1 deficit to go to the following round. That was after Higgins had bounced back from his own error-filled mid-game slump in form. Allen hadn’t triumphed at Alexandra Palace since taking home the title in 2018.
