One of the best players to ever step foot in a tennis arena is Stefanie Graf. She was regarded as the greatest player of all time until American ace Serena Williams rose to prominence. Graf enjoyed controlling her opponents from the first set on and was an aggressive player. Her groundstrokes were usually directed toward the lines because she was a baseline player.
But Graf’s flexibility and willingness to adjust to the needs of the moment allowed her to succeed on all types of surfaces, including hard courts, grass, and clay. Graf was equally dominant on all surfaces and showed no preference, in contrast to many other great tennis players.
