How does Pete Rose feel about the growing controversy surrounding Shohei Ohtani?

On Tiktok, he posted a whining, self-pitying “joke” saying something like, “I guess I’d be scot free if I’d had an interpreter.” Of course, it was hilarious to a group of ball-washing losers who believe he has been abused. Meanwhile, some of us recall that the guy lied for years about his bets and showed no remorse at all when he was discovered. Until it started to damage his autograph circuit fees, at which point he tried a couple times to offer the most phony “apologies” he could. The majority of us don’t care what Pete Rose believes about anything.

Not the age of consent, in particular. Supposedly.)

That’s not to argue that Ohtani shouldn’t be looked at. And he will be, if not by MLB then by the federal agents overseeing the bookie and interpreter’s criminal case. However, it’s some paste-eating crap that he’s receiving special treatment when the report broke less than a week ago.

MLB was going to have Shohei Ohtani as its new face. What does his current status as the center of controversy signify for the sports industry?

As I mentioned in a previous post:

“Did MLB, the NBA, and the NFL truly believe that once they entered the gambling industry, incidents like this would not arise? Really?

I hope Otani is completely blameless. However, I believe that the ruling class will also need to step in and throw the book at the interpreter. Otani needs to put enough space between himself and the scandal so that he isn’t its face. It’s necessary to fire the interpreter. The checking account? It will be a really fascinating story to “clarify.”

Too much MLB has been done to Otani. Thus, the “story” must be that he was merely attempting to assist. But in order for Shohei to quickly return to being the “right” face, MLB must hope that no embarrassing proof is surfacing.
