Melissa McCarthy took to social media to address her awkward moment with Barbra Streisand and declare herself the winner.
McCarthy started the controversy by sharing pictures of herself with director Adam Shankman from an event she attended honoring director and choreographer Matthew Bourne on Instagram. Those pictures have since been taken down. Then, 82-year-old Streisand wrote, “Give him my regards did you take Ozempic?” in a since-deleted comment, alluding to the FDA-approved Type 2 diabetes medicine that is now widely used for weight loss.
After the comment went viral, Streisand received a lot of backlash. McCarthy is now discussing her thoughts on the matter as a whole.
McCarthy speaks straight into the camera in a video that was uploaded to Instagram while hiding her face deep inside a copy of Streisand’s “Celebrating An Icon” magazine.
“The lesson,” she started, “is that Barbra Streisand is aware of my existence. McCarthy said, “She reached out to me and said I looked good.” “Today, I win.”
