Barbra Streisand is talking candidly about how she refused to have surgery on her nose.
The 81-year-old singer and actress has faced criticism for her facial features—particularly the “bump” on her nose—during her career. “My Name Is Barbra,” her new memoir, features her candid comments about the persistent remarks.
Many people had already advised me to have my teeth capped and have my nose altered. I asked myself, Is my talent insufficient? A nose job would be costly and painful,” the woman wrote. “How could I trust someone to do just what I wanted, and nothing more, anyway? Although I liked the bump on my nose, should I think about making a small adjustment? Maybe just straighten the bottom a little bit and trim the tip a little bit?”
