Just Revealed: Liverpool will be without three star players for the rest of the season

Liverpool’s trip to Wolves on Saturday marks their return to Premier League play, but following their training session on Thursday morning, manager Jurgen Klopp is dealing with an injury crisis.

Darwin Nunez, Thiago Alcantara, and Trent Alexander-Arnold were not present for Liverpool’s Thursday morning training session.

The trio has been dealing with injuries lately, and it appears like they will be giving manager Jurgen Klopp a lot of trouble before the Premier League returns. For their first match following the international break, the Reds visit Wolves on Saturday lunchtime.

However, it appears that their strong start to the upcoming campaign will be interrupted by a defensive selection issue. After his one-match red card suspension against Newcastle was increased due to his outburst at referee John Brooks, captain Virgil van Dijk is now suspended.

Alexander-Arnold, the interim captain, hobbled out of the team’s victory over Aston Villa the following week due to a hamstring strain. As a result, he was forced to withdraw from the England team, and it now appears that he will have a limited amount of time to play against Wolves.

The right-back’s issue was downplayed by Klopp after the victory over Villa. However, Alexander-Arnold’s absence from training implies that his chances of making a speedy recovery have been dashed.

Thiago had surgery in the summer to repair a hip issue, and he has been gradually returning to fitness. Although Klopp stated that he resumed team training last month, it appears that he has had a setback based on his absence on Thursday.

Due to a thigh injury, Ibrahim Konate missed Liverpool’s final two matches prior to the international break. Although he was not selected for France’s national team, he has since returned to training. Given the competition to stay fit for him and Alexander-Arnold, Klopp might have to try new things in defense.
