Liverpool confirmed squad against Bournemouth

When Liverpool plays Bournemouth in the Premier League today, they are still missing a number of key players.

Even though they will have played one more game than the defending champions, three points on the south coast would see Jurgen Klopp’s team increase their lead over Manchester City at the top to five points.

In addition to Wataru Endo, who is out for the Asian Cup and Africa Cup of Nations, and Mohamed Salah, who is now out due to a hamstring injury sustained during the tournament with Egypt, Trent Alexander-Arnold is sidelined with a knee injury.

Joel Matip, Kostas Tsimikas, Stefan Bajcetic, Thiago Alcantara, and Andy Robertson are all chronic absentees.

Dominik Szoboszlai is also out of the Bournemouth match, but there is still optimism that he and Alexander-Arnold will play in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg match at Craven Cottage against Fulham.

On Friday, Klopp stated, “I hope nobody else will be out.”

“We’ll see how they perform after Bournemouth and possibly for Fulham. Trent is close, Robertson close and Dom close. So everything is moving in the correct direction, but not for the game this weekend.”

Alisson; Bradley, Van Dijk, Konate, Gomez; Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Jones; Gakpo, Jota, Diaz was Liverpool’s expected starting lineup (4-3-3)
