Liverpool dream line up next season with new signings

Can Liverpool contend for the Premier League top four after a dismal season the previous year and a midfield purge in the summer?

Liverpool, which placed sixth in the Premier League the previous year, will miss out on a year of Champions League football.

James Milner and Jordan Henderson, two of Jurgen Klopp’s primary midfield generals, are absent from the team going into the season. James Milner headed south to Brighton, while Henderson joined his old teammate Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia.

Along with Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Naby Keita, and defensive midfielder Fabinho—who relocated to Saudi Arabia—the midfield exodus also includes the potential departure of Spaniard Thiago.

To bolster their already potent striker lineup, the Reds have added Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister as statement additions.

Their inability to field a strong defensive midfielder and their lack of defensive cover could be obstacles they must overcome in order to contend for the top four spots.

Liverpool’s possible lineup for this season is as follows:

Over the past several seasons, Alisson Becker has established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League, if not the entire globe. The Brazilian will be the squad’s indisputable starting keeper because he has performed at his best when things get tight for the side. Adrian will be the third choice keeper, and Caoimhin Kelleher will be the backup.

Protectors

Liverpool appears to have a fixed back four as well. Alexander-Arnold, the recently appointed vice captain, and Andrew Robertson will cover the wings, with Virgil Van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate expected to be the preferred central defensive duo.

In an otherwise thin defensive lineup, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, and Konstantinos Tsimikas will be the choices from the bench.

middle players

The pair of recent hires Szoboszlai and Mac Allister stroll right into Liverpool’s midfield. Gakpo is anticipated to start at number 10 when the Premier League season kicks off, a position Klopp has stuck with him in during the preseason. Thiago’s departure leaves Curtis Jones, Stefan Bacjetic, and Harvey Elliott as the only viable bench alternatives.

The UK is hearing rumors of a last-minute attempt to get Moises Caicedo, which would be a smart move to address its defensive midfield issues.

Inverse

Liverpool’s strongest weapon is its forwards, who have seen significant spending over the last two transfer windows. On either flank, Mohamed Salah and Luiz Diaz are scheduled to start in order to offer pace and directness. Jota was Klopp’s favored option over Nunez during the preseason, so as the league goes on, that rotation will be something to watch. The other alternatives are Gakpo and Elliot in the event of multiple injuries.
