Despite losing, Luka Doncic managed to place his name in the record books once more.
The Dallas Mavericks suffered a painful loss on Sunday. Despite overcoming a significant halftime deficit, the squad was unable to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 4 of their playoff series. To add to the frustration, their stars’ big games were all for nothing. Kyrie Irving scored 40 points, while Luka Doncic produced a triple double of 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. Doncic’s performance throughout the first quarter, however, provided a silver lining.
The Mavericks star scored his 1,000th playoff point, becoming the third-fastest player in NBA history to achieve 1,000 career points in the postseason, according to Mavs PR and ClutchPoints. Doncic accomplished the feat in 32 games, trailing only Wilt Chamberlain (29 games) and Michael Jordan (28 games).
