NBA: Boston Celtics defeat Golden State Warriors for 11th consecutive victory.

The Boston Celtics defeated the Golden State Warriors 140-88, extending their winning streak to 11 games.

 

Jayson Tatum, on his 26th birthday, scored 27 points for the Celtics, who lead the Eastern Conference, while teammate Jaylen Brown added 29 points.

 

With the victory, the Celtics became the first franchise in NBA history to win three games by 50 points or more in the same season.

 

“It is up there.” “Great birthday,” Tatum exclaimed.

 

“I got to do what I love in front of the world’s best fans and win.”

 

The home Celtics, who currently have a 48-12 record, led 82-38 at halftime, and both teams rested several of their best players for the second half.

 

“You flush it down the toilet,” said Warriors coach Steve Kerr, whose team ranks eighth in the Western Conference.

 

“Boston was terrific; we weren’t going to beat them today. They were great. This was a truly amazing performance from both ends.”

 

Victor Wembanyama led the San Antonio Spurs to a 117-105 victory over the visiting Indiana Pacers, scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, six blocked shots, and one steal.

 

The Oklahoma City Thunder, who lead the Western Conference with a 42-18 record, defeated the seventh-place Phoenix Suns 118-110.

 

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 35 points, nine assists, eight rebounds, and three steals for the Thunder.
