Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic made history on Sunday against the Houston Rockets by recording 36 points, 21 rebounds, and 11 assists. He was the first player since Wilt Chamberlain to finish a game with those stats or higher. Six times, Chamberlain hit that mark or above; the last time he did so was in 1968.
Oscar Robertson and Elgin Baylor are the only other players in NBA history to have a line similar to what Jokic had against the Rockets. The only two players to ever post that line in a losing game are Jokic and Chamberlain, as the Nuggets lost to the Rockets on Sunday.
Jokic is scoring 60.6% of his points from the field, averaging 29.8 PPG, 13.7 RPG, and 8.3 APG through 10 games. Jokic would be the first player to reach these averages in NBA history if they were to hold. Jokic would still be the first player in NBA history to record those averages on at least 60% from the field, even if the eligibility criteria were dropped to 25/10/5.
