Patrick Queen, a linebacker, may leave the Baltimore Ravens in free agency this offseason. Seattle is the most likely location to land him, if there is one.
Seattle also has a number of pending free agents, including as Bobby Wagner and Jordyn Brooks, two linebackers. Queen has already declared his admiration for his former defensive coordinator, Mike Macdonald.
Macdonald was recently hired by Seattle to take Pete Carroll’s place as head coach, and Queen praised the move.
As of right now, Queen told reporters, “I believe he is the best candidate out there,” January 29. Nobody, in my opinion, does [it] quite like him. No one is as concerned as he is. Nobody will carry out his actions. He won’t stop working until everything is perfect.
Queen said, “So, whoever gets him, if he leaves, probably gets like the best candidate out there.” “The guy is the best person I’ve ever been around, period. In terms of a coach, a person, and just his genuine concern. He genuinely cares about the fans, the players, and everyone associated with the organization.
Spotrac.com estimates that Queen’s contract is worth $92.6 million over five years. Queen signed a four-year, $12.1 million contract as a rookie.
In his 17 starts in Baltimore last season, Queen recorded a career-high 133 tackles, including nine for loss, six quarterback hits, 3.5 sacks, one interception, six passes broken up, and one forced fumble. The loss of him would be significant for the Ravens.
