Ollie Watkins, who may be the perfect fit for Mikel Arteta, has made it apparent that Arsenal is looking for a striker. The Aston Villa player is excelling for both club and nation, and he has made no secret of his want to play for the Gunners in the future.
The fact that Arsenal does not have a premier goal scorer is one criticism leveled at them frequently. While Gabriel Jesus is an excellent football player, he doesn’t provide Arteta with the volume of goals a frontman needs.
This season, the Brazilian has only managed one goal in the Premier League. As they did in the previous season, when he scored 11 goals in 26 games, injuries have once again limited his playing time.
Jesus has never been a prolific scorer; his finest league season came in 2019–20, when he scored 14 goals for Manchester City. Eddie Nketiah also doesn’t appear to be the solution.
Even though he has five goals in the competition, tying for the club’s most, he hasn’t started a league game in more than a month. Watkins might have the solution that Arteta is searching for because he seems to be looking elsewhere.
