Ste brings you up to date on all the Liverpool news that’s been making the rounds online today. The big news is that Andre is going public following rumors that Liverpool’s €30 million deal was rejected by Fluminense.
Andre, a midfielder for Fluminense, has commented on the many rumors surrounding his rumored transfer to either Liverpool or Arsenal. Two different agreements have also surfaced in the media.
Andre, 22, is anticipated to be one of the upcoming generation of Brazilian celebrities to relocate to Europe. But Andre might go directly to the Premier League instead of first testing the waters in Portugal, as many South Americans prefer to do.
As part of their extensive summer rebuilding, Liverpool made an effort to sign the defensive midfield player.
But the Guardian claims that there was an arrangement in place that rendered the transition unfeasible.
They assert that at the close of 2022, Andre and Fluminense manager Fernando Diniz made a deal that would prevent Andre from leaving the team during the summer, “no matter which club was interested.”
Andre was supposed to play a major part in Fluminense’s quest to win their first-ever Copa Libertadores.
Diniz’s aspirations have proven to be well-founded as that competition is the South American counterpart of the Champions League.
In fact, the championship match between Fluminense and the mighty Boca Juniors of Argentina will take place tonight at 8 p.m. UK time.
Even yet, Liverpool continued to try their luck in the off-season despite Andre and Diniz’s agreement, even though all of their approaches were turned down.
Since then, Arsenal has shown themselves to be a serious competitor for Andre’s signature. In 2024, the Gunners will always be associated with either Thomas Partey or Jorginho’s departure.
In comparison to both players, Andre would be seen as a younger and more hungry option.

Premature assertions about the Liverpool agreement?
There have been rumors that Liverpool and Andre had reached a personal terms agreement. That would come before a suggested change in January.
Talk of such an arrangement, meanwhile, is premature if Andre’s remarks to the Guardian are any indication.
Andre said that he watches the Premier League very carefully, but he also hinted that he is unsure of his future and that staying at Fluminense after January is a possibility.
Andre said, “I watch the Premier League a lot,” in response to a question concerning his future. “Players have to meet high standards in this fiercely competitive league.” But for now, I just want to live here in Fluminense on a daily basis.
I truly enjoy my long-term contract at Fluminense, but I’m not sure what the future holds.
I feel at home there because it has been my home for ten years. At just 22 years old, I’m still rather young, so I shouldn’t plan too far ahead.
“I simply have to keep working hard, try to take home this trophy, and then wait and see what happens when the season is over.”
It’s believed that Andre’s agreement with Fluminense has a €40 million release clause. Fluminense would not be able to stop an exit if the clause was activated in January by either Arsenal or Liverpool.
Furthermore, Andre might be more inclined to leave his boyhood club if he helps Fluminense win the Copa Libertadores today.
