REPORT: Curtis Jones, Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and one other will be missing clash against Toulouse— Kloop revealed

Virgil van Dijk will not play for Liverpool against Toulouse on Thursday night in the Europa League, according to manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Liverpool manager also disclosed that Ryan Gravenberch and Curtis Jones would also miss the game, which is televised live on talkSPORT 2, adding to the depressing injury news.

But Klopp also disclosed that Ben Doak, an intriguing prospect, is a viable alternative now that he has recovered from an injury.

Regarding the 17-year-old: “It’s excellent. Ben, of course, came through for us and had a fantastic preseason.

“He played for us for these minutes, made a significant effect in the Europa League and other events, started in the Premier League as well, and then sustained this injury.

That is never cool for a boy; it takes away from rhythm a little. He is back with us now, completely trained, and available for tomorrow, which is incredibly beneficial to us.”

If Van Dijk’s absence worried Liverpool supporters, Klopp has allayed their concerns by confirming that he won’t be missing any Premier League games.

“Virgil is a little bit ill,” he clarified.

“Should not be a big deal, but it’s clear that we didn’t want it to happen on the plane.” I have it, and perhaps some other people do as well.

“He ought to be fine for the weekend.”

Less encouraging news, meanwhile, was about Jones and Gravenberch, who might return next week following the international break.

“Curtis had a minor hamstring issue last week,” Klopp continued.

“He will return after the international break, but not before.” Very poor quality hamstring.

Ryan experienced a minor knee ache. He was already running on Wednesday, but this game was out of the question.

“Brentford has a chance, and he will return following the international break.”

Liverpool’s Europa League match against Toulouse takes place in France on Thursday at 5:45 p.m. If they win, they will advance to the next round without any problems.

The Reds are among the strong favorites to win the entire competition as they have already won three straight games.
