Jeremy Doku, a winger for Manchester City, was thrilled to score in the win over West Ham.
James Ward-Prowse gave the Hammers the lead, but City rallied to win 3-1 thanks to goals from Doku, Bernardo Silva, and Erling Haaland.
It means a lot, remarked Doku, who was subsequently selected Man of the Match. A lot. especially after they achieve their objective.
“I wanted to give something back, something good, and I’m delighted that I scored and assisted the squad.
I believe we responded admirably. We had numerous scoring opportunities in the first half, but we persisted nonetheless. I was frustrated because I had poor touch and they scored.
“We responded strongly, carried on, scored three goals, and had a good game after that.
“It [the match against Vladimir Coufal] was fun,” I had numerous one-on-ones, and the coach is aware of my skill in that area.
“We try one-on-ones. It worked when I tested it. The match versus him was fun.
Doku added, “He [manager Pep Guardiola] thought I was a little shy in the first game, but now I’m not, and I agree.
“Today, I demonstrated my abilities a bit more. Today, I was less shy.
“I’m not yet aware of it, but I’m really enjoying it. It’s a significant occasion for my family and I.
“Hopefully, we can win lots of games and trophies, and I can score lots of goals.”
