On Wednesday, Kaboly appeared on the Black and Gold Three Rivers Podcast with Ed Troup to talk about the Steelers’ 2024 offseason and the team’s most recent headlines. Kaboly made a suggestion about what he believes the Steelers will need to accomplish in order to decide Ogunjobi’s contract status.
“You might have to bite the bullet, bro. Because of the strength of that defensive line, even though Larry Ogunjobi is getting a ton of money while not playing to that level, you might have to do what he says. You might have to tell him, “I have to pay you.” It’s just not good when you look at the depth there, so you probably want to cling on him for dear life.
It has been reported, according to Kaboly, that Ogunjobi will receive a bonus a few days following the commencement of the free agency window. This implies that if the Steelers discover someone else at defensive lineman who suits them better and at a lower cost, they may decide to part ways with him.
