Although Caitlin Clark is accustomed to winning awards, she was given a renowned jersey by Ted Lasso, one of the most well-known coaches in the world.
In her illustrious college career, Clark has won numerous accolades. For the second year in a row, she has been named the most outstanding women’s college basketball player by winning the John R. Wooden Award. Zach Edey of Purdue University accepted the men’s trophy at the Los Angeles Athletic Club on Friday during the award ceremony.
In addition to receiving the Wooden Award, however, Clark also received her very own AFC Richmond shirt from the popular television series “Ted Lasso,” which was handed to her by none other than Jason Sudeikis, who plays the coach.
Sudeikis is among the well-known admirers of Clark. During Clark’s tenure with the Hawkeyes, he attended a number of Iowa games and was spotted posing for pictures with the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer. He was featured on the ESPN broadcast multiple times as he tracked Iowa on their 2024 NCAA Tournament run, which ended with Iowa falling to South Carolina in the national championship game.
