The late great tennis player Bjorn Borg and his spouse traveled to Chennai to watch their teenage son, Leo, compete in the Chennai Open. The 11-time Grand Slam champion discussed the Big Four as well as Leo’s emerging career.
This time around, the ATP Challenger in Chennai has included some intriguing athletes, such as Leo Borg, the son of tennis icon Bjørn Borg. President of the Tamil Nadu Tennis Association (TNTA) Vijay Amritraj and eleven-time Grand Slam champion Björn Borg met with the media before to the Challenger tournament and discussed ways that Sweden and India may work together through youth tennis exchange programs.
“There isn’t a player from India in the top 200 [in singles]. There are things to get taught. Björn and I are hoping to assist with cross-country promotions so that our juniors can play there and their juniors can come here. I’m talking to Bjørn about those types of things. Perhaps we will succeed in pulling it off. It is going to good for both,” Amritraj said.
