Hall of Fame For good cause, Indiana State alumni Larry Joe Bird, the small forward for the Boston Celtics, is considered an NBA icon. In fact, one of his nicknames is “Larry Legend.”
During his legendary career in green and white, Bird—also referred to as The Hick From French Lick, a reference to his childhood stomping grounds—led the Celtics to three championships, won as many Most Valuable Player awards (consecutively), and received countless other honors.
A video featuring Bird and his colleagues was recently combined with the legendary Boston Celtics player’s testimonies to the highlights and most memorable times of his legendary tenure.
