The Boston Celtics’ recent scoring spree in the third quarter proved to be the difference in the Chicago Bulls’ defeat.

“In the third quarter, when we weren’t scoring, they took their intensity up to a different level.”

The Chicago Bulls led the Boston Celtics 62-59 in the half of their game on Thursday night, giving the impression that they could be able to defeat them in the short term. All of that, though, was a mirage as the Celtics shocked the Bulls by outscoring them 37-21 in the third quarter and going on to win 129-112.

demonstrated to the Bulls their true nature

Bulls coach Billy Donovan cites numerous factors for the Celtics’ status as a strong contender for the championship this year. Boston had four All-Stars starting, and this season’s other starter may have been deserving of an All-Star spot. And then there’s the three-point shooting; the Celtics, who have made the most of them this season, showed off their skills against the Bulls

Donovan stated, “There are teams that clearly want to win championships, and they’re one of them.”

“They increased their intensity to a new level in the third quarter when we were not scoring.”

drought in the third quarter

Blink and they’re ahead by double digits against a team as strong as the Celtics. That’s exactly what occurred during the Bulls’ game against Boston. After scoring 10 points in a row in the third quarter, the Celtics showed off their potent offensive arsenal and never looked back. Chicago, on the other hand, struggled to score throughout that time, going only 9 of 24 from the field.

After all was said and done, the Celtics had built up a 13-point lead and were never in danger in the fourth.
