Greetings and welcome to the live coverage of the 2024 Masters by Eurosport from Alexandra Palace in London on day two. Only the top 16 players in the world compete in this esteemed snooker tournament, and today’s man to take the baize is 2019 world champion Judd Trump. He starts at 13:00 against Kyren Wilson, then at 19:00, Neil Robertson fights Barry Hawkins.
30-4 WILSON 5-3 TRUMP
Judd’s black is covered by a flick off the pack, so it’s pink to center and back to baulk. Though his safety has been so bad these past few frames that, as I write, he leaves a starter that Judd cuts to the left corner before slipping in behind Brown, Kyren will be happy that the gap isn’t bigger
.
5-3 TRUMP WILSON (1-4)
Nevertheless, Kyren still has a long-potting ability that is as strong as ever today. He sends down a long beginning, only to be caught off guard by a deft glance from a different red. Then an additional bug gets in the way, and then Judd gets plenty of room—plus an insurance pot—after a terrible miss with an undercut to the left corner.
5-3 WILSON TRUMP
After Judd takes out the pink, it’s difficult to imagine him losing from this point on.
WILSON 4-3 TRUMP (54-38)
Though Judd is far from peaking, he has won five straight frames after falling behind 3-0, and Kyren, who comes back to the table in need of a snooker, needs to win three straight.
Wilson (41-38), TRUMP (41-38)
Kyren is in serious difficulty because his safety strategy has failed at the end of this period. Judd will undoubtedly clean up from here if he makes one more mistake and leaves the green.
Wilson 4-3 Trump (38-34)
After Kyren mishandles another snooker, Judd hits the second shot, and the frame has been continuing for 35 minutes. White and green are next to one another but are obstructed by the pink.
