The son of Barbara Streisand claims he was aware of his musical nature right from when he was”in his mother’s womb.”

When you have a voice as good as Jason Gould’s, telling your mother that you want to sing shouldn’t be too difficult. However, the performer acknowledges that he was understandably “pretty scared” about the possibility. Barbra Streisand, one of the most successful recording artists of all time with ten Grammy Awards, including the Legend and Lifetime Achievement Awards, is, after all, Jason’s mother.

The 57-year-old Jason, who this month releases Sacred Days, his EP of self-composed songs, says, “So when I first started to write and record music, I was deeply insecure about it because my mother was an icon in that world and she still is.” I was terrified to sing in front of her at all, let alone anyone else.

“My mother was and still is an icon in that world, so when I first started to write and record music, I was really insecure about it,” the 57-year-old Jason says. This month, he releases Sacred Days, an EP of songs he wrote personally. “Let alone anyone else, I was terrified to sing in front of her.”
