After Aston Villa lost at home for the first time since February in a Carabao Cup match against Everton, Unai Emery refused to blame fatigue: “It’s not [about being] fatigued. I don’t want to put all of our energy into the players for every game. While maintaining balance with a variety of players, we also strive to remain aggressive.
Despite our faults and slow start, we are working to improve as a team and move forward. It was challenging to recover after we made the second error soon [in the second half].
We must act quickly and attempt to get the players well for Saturday’s game [against Brighton] because we require the greatest effort.
