The Bosnian champions were defeated by Aston Villa thanks to a late goal from John McGinn.
John McGinn’s goal in the 94th minute was all that Aston Villa needed to defeat Bosnian champions Zrinjski Mostar 1-0 in the Europa Conference League.
Following a 3-2 loss to Legia Warsaw two weeks ago, Villa desperately needed the victory.
Villa had taken 25 shots by the time extra time rolled around, but no goals had been scored. The Scotland star altered all of that when he scored the game-winning goal in the UEFA Conference League against HSK Zrinjski.
It’s significant because of how the group was founded, according to McGinn. “Tonight was a must-win.”
