With a league-leading 43-12 record, the Boston Celtics have led the Eastern Conference during the first half of the 2023–24 NBA season. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown of the Celtics are now focused on returning to the league’s All-Star weekend, albeit in different capacities.
Unlike teammate Jaylen Brown, five-time All-Star Tatum will not be taking part in the 3-Point Contest. Rather, he will don the “analyst” hat and collaborate alongside Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter, and host Adam Lefkoe for a truTV and Max coverage of the event. In addition, the top player for the Boston Celtics will share his thoughts and opinions during the much awaited Stephen Curry vs. Sabrina Ionescu 3-Point Challenge.
Brown, Tatum’s teammate, will take the stage for the Slam Dunk Contest while Tatum takes the mic. The guard for the Celtics, who averages 22.3 points per game this season, will test his dunking prowess against Jacob Toppin, Mac McClung, and Jaime Jaquez Jr. Brown is a strong candidate and the first All-Star to compete in the All-Star Weekend Dunk Contest in six years, even though he has never before participated. He currently ranks 27th in total dunks this season.
